Do you really turn away business?
Yes.

Many people don’t understand a core concept we believe in. We believe that we can do a better job if we can focus on one customer at a time. If it takes us a week to put together your site, then we can do that in the week. We don’t want to also be working on a second client to your detriment. That means that we turn down work.

We also turn down work because our “support” slate is currently filled. Bringing a client on-line can be time consuming. At the beginning of the relationship the client may have a great deal of need for our support. That will decrease over time. As the needs for support decrease, we can add new clients. This limits our development capabilities to less than one client per month on average.



 
Is it true that both of the principles have other business activities?
Yes.

Mr. Baker and Mr. Ivler have other activities that they participate in outside of BIA Solutions. A quick google of Mr. Ivler will show that he also operates CANITech, a business consultancy. Additionally, Mr. Ivler with his partner Mr. Rubin have recently started EduCAD Learning Solutions, Inc. in order to take their patented technology to market.

These other activities also reduce the amount of time that the principles can provide to the operation of BIA Solutions, which is one reason that BIA Solutions turns away business opportunities.



 
Do you really refer people to your competitors?
Yes again.

We have no problem saying that our plate is too full. In addition, we want you to take what we generate from that first meeting and take it to others. We want you to get an understanding of the costs involved with web site development. We want you to be an educated consumer.

Part of this includes our requirement that you talk to our competitors (and we will provide a name if you need one). If you would rather go with them, then do so.

We aren't going to get into price wars, and we don't want our clients to feel that they were taken to the cleaners. We won't make promises that we can't deliver (like promissing you one of the slots on the first page of the search engines) and we won't try to nickle and dime you on support. We believe that BIA Solutions stands a head taller than the rest due to this, and we aren't afraid to have you talk to others; in fact, we insist on it.
